Red Sox Reinstate Infielder Vaughn Grissom From 10-Day Injured List

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today reinstated infielder Vaughn Grissom from the 10-Day Injured List. To make room on the active roster, the club optioned infielder/outfielder Bobby Dalbec to Triple-A Worcester following yesterday’s game against the San Francisco Giants.

Grissom, 23, began the season on the injured list with a left hamstring strain. He played in nine rehab games with Worcester, going 10-for-30 (.333) with two doubles, five walks, and two stolen bases while making six starts at second base and three as the designated hitter. Acquired from the Atlanta Braves on December 30, 2023, the right-handed hitter has played in 64 Major League games (2022-23), batting .287 (62-for-216) with five home runs and a .746 OPS.

Dalbec, 28, has played in 22 games with Boston this season, making nine starts at first base, six at third base, and one as the designated hitter. In his last seven games, he has hit .286 (6-for-21) with two stolen bases and a .348 on-base percentage.
